Instructions
Step 1: Measure and mix your resin as per brand instructions.
Step 2: Pour a thin layer of clear resin into the silicone mold.
Â
Â
Step 3: Wait for the resin to cure to a smooth hard finish (not sticky).
Step 4: Using the acrylic markers draw onto your resin.
Feel free to watch the video linked above if you want to follow along with me.
Step 5: Wait for the marker paint to fully dry before you proceed to Step 6.
Â
Â
Step 6: Prepare and mix a batch of clear resin.
Step 7: Pour a thin layer of clear resin into your mold.
Make sure to leave enough space for the third and final layer of resin. You only require a thin layer at this stage so that you can add another dimension to your drawing.Â
Step 8: Wait for the resin to cure to a hard smooth finish before proceeding to Step 9.
Â
Â
Step 9: Draw your second layer onto the resin.Â
For the moon, I drew a base using a white acrylic marker. When the marker paint dries, paint the middle section using white acrylic paint.
Â
Â
Â
Step 10: Wait for the paint to dry completely.
Step 11: Prepare and mix your resin.
Step 12: Divide the clear resin into 3 mixing cups.
Â
Â
Step 13: To one mixing cup add white mica pigment powder.
Step 14: To another mixing cup add sky blue alcohol ink and silver blue resin pigment.
Step 15: To the remaining cup add violet alcohol ink and glitter purple resin pigment.
Â
Â
Step 16: Mix each cup well. Make sure that the pigments are thoroughly and evenly distributed into your resin - mix each mixture for around 2-3 minutes each making sure to scrape the sides in the process.
Â
Â
Step 17: Pour the resin into the silicone mold.
This is the final resin layer of coaster, so make sure to fill the mold all the way through this time round.
Pour the white mixture first behind the moon. Then pour the blue and purple mixture. Top up as needed until you get the desired result.
Â
Â
Step 18: Wait for the resin to cure.
Step 19: Remove the coaster from the silicone mold when the resin has fully cured.
You can stop here if you like the transparent look of the coaster, however if you want the colors to show more, proceed to the next and final step.
Step 20: Paint the back of the coaster using white acrylic paint.
Step 21: Wait for the paint to fully dry.

Your 🌷 springtime resin coaster is complete.Â
