Resin Tutorial: Galaxy Coaster
This project is super easy making it beginner friendly and also suitable for experienced resin crafters alike. The coaster is made in two pours. The first pour consists of clear resin in which the embellishments are embedded. In the second and final layer colored resin in varying shades of blue and purple is poured.
For this project you will need the following craft supplies:
- mixing cups
- mixing sticks
- epoxy resin
- coaster silicone mold
- pearl stars
- gold hollow star confetti
- gold moons, stars and sun
- purple pearl resin pigment
- sapphire blue pearl resin pigment
- iridescent blue fine glitter
- iridescent purple fine glitter
- light blue mica powder
- lilac mica powder

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare resin as per manufacturer's instructions.
Step 2: Pour the clear resin into the coaster mold filling it half way.
Step 3: Add the embellishments and submerge them into the resin to embed them.
Step 4: Wait for the resin to cure.
Step 5: Prepare and mix resin as per manufacturer's instructions.
Step 6: Divide the resin into two mixing cups.
Step 7: To one mixing cup add blue resin pigment.
Step 8: To the other mixing cup add purple resin pigment.
Step 9: Mix each cup well making to sure thoroughly and evenly distributed the pigment into the resin.
Step 10: Pour some of each color mixture into the mold.
Do not pour all of the mixture and do not fill all of the mold. We will be using the rest of the resin to create another 2 varying shades of each color.
Step 11: To the blue resin mix, add blue glitter. Mix well.
Step 12: To the purple resin mix, add purple glitter. Mix well.
Step 13: Pour some of each color mix into the mold. Once again do not use all of the mixture and do not fill all of the mold.
Step 14: To the blue resin mix, add blue mica powder. Mix well.
Step 15: To the purple resin mix, add purple mica powder. Mix well.
Step 16: Pour the resin mixtures into the mold until the mold is full.
Step 17: Wait for the resin to cure.
Step 18: Once the resin has fully cured, de-mold the coaster from the silicone mold.
