Resin Tutorial: Creepy Cat Key chain
Craft Supplies
For this project you will need the following craft supplies:
- epoxy resin
- 1.5" Halloween Cat Silicone Mold
- mixing cups
- mixing sticks
- black pearl resin pigment
- silver fine glitter
- holographic black chunky glitter
- holographic black cellophane flakes
- key ring with chain
- eye screw x1
- jump ring x1

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare and mix resin. Make sure to follow the instructions provided with your resin.
Step 2: To the resin add black pigment and glitters. Mix well.
Step 3: Pour the black glittery resin mixture into the cat silicone mold. Fill the mold all the way to the edge.
Step 4: Wait for the resin to cure.
Step 5: Remove the cured resin from the silicone mold.
Step 6: Drill a hole at the top of the resin piece and attach the eye screw.
Note: For durability, you can choose to dip the eye screw in some clear resin before screwing it in place. In which case, wait for the resin to set before proceeding to the next step.
Step 7: Using white acrylic paint, paint the engraved detail on the cat. Do not worry if it's messy at this stage, it's very easy to clean up later when the paint is dry.
Step 8: Wait for the paint to completely dry.
Step 9: To remove excess paint, use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol (or surgical spirit). This will only remove the paint from the surface of the cat, so you can easily wipe the entire surface at once without worrying about the paint coming off from the engraved parts. Finish by polishing the surface with a soft dry cloth.
Step 10: Attach the jump ring, chain and key ring to the eye screw.
